It is with very great pleasure we can announce  that Bronwen Hugill-Gowers (Stan's Widow) and her husband Vic have accepted  the invitation as Guest of Honour at the celebration and work permitting his two son's Philip & Martin - for those of you who have never met Bronwen and Vic they are really great people and are really looking forward to the event and meeting up with many of Stan's old friends.

Bookings are now pouring in so PLEASE contact us to reserve a place - email will be fine- but numbers are limited by the hotel.

Several singers have also offered to sing so we will be starting to compile lists shortly.

Some people have had a problem downloading the booking form - if you are one of these please email and we will resend a copy.

If you have ever recorded a tribute song please tell us about it - we would love to include on the "Here's To Stan" commemorative CD - it will not be sold -  its a part of the special things being created for this unique event.

We have a theatre/hall booked in the centre of Liverpool in "The Liner" on Lord Nelson St behind Lime St, Station (the old Gladstone Hotel it has been redecorated in a maritime theme), the Hall has limited seating so first come, first served, a list of artists and other events will appear here very soon!  Jan 2005

Well this is the time when we take a very deep breath !

In November 2006 Stan Hugill would have celebrated his 100th birthday and we are thinking of holding the ultimate festival/birthday party - this very outline planning at the moment and we would like anyone who is interested to let us know - no money no definite commitment just an expression of interest is all we are asking about at the moment so that we can have some idea of the size of venue we are looking for!

 Some ideas:

It will be held in Liverpool during the weekend of 19th November 2006

No artists will be booked or paid - the concept is that this is a chance to say "Thanks Stan"

Everyone is welcome to come - to sing if they want to - to talk to chat - hopefully to look at some of the paintings etc -or simply to be part of this once only unique event

There will be a minimal charge to cover the cost of hiring the venue but all else will be done without additional charge

We have used our mailing list but please feel free to pass on this email to anyone you think will be interested

As we said at the begining all we ask at the moment is that you let us know if you are interested and we will then concentrate on sending further information to those who would like to be part of this very special event

May you always run before the wind

Jan and Ken Lardner (The Chantey Cabin)
