Although it is well known that the words of shanties are not engraved in stone !
and the act of transformation (and to quote Stan -"the folk tradition") often takes place,
but it came as a surprise that the lyrics, as sung by Stan, on some of his recordings,
are yet another variation to the words in his books!

After many many hours of listening to, and comparing, the versions, we have transcribed
the lyrics to the best of our ability.
