What a wonderful idea to create a web site for Stan.

 Well I have a few, but one that sticks in my mind was at the Tall Ships event at Milford Haven in 1991. There was a restaurant near the site and I was dining with Stan, who between mouthfuls of food was explaining the tradition of shanty singing. The restaurant was pretty full but that didn't deter Stan from illustrating his talk with a verse or two from various shanties, much to the surprise of fellow diners. For Stan might well have been on a tall ship whilst singing - for he was giving full voice to the songs. It was wonderful!

 

At the same event, a concert was organised, and Stan was designated to act a "Boarding Master" and take the names of each group as they came on stage. I can't repeat Stan reactions to this idea!!
