What a delightful surprise to find a whole web site devoted to Stan. In 1953-1954 whilst at Outward Bound sea school in Aberdovey there were shanty evenings when Stan and the various instructors gave full voice to many of these sea shanties. Memorable. Hugh Ferguson.ex Blue Funnel deck Officer.

just visited the web site for the first time,brought so many vivid memories of sitting behind Stan,entranced as a young boy,as he weaved his magic on the canvas. His stories and tales definitley fed my young imaginination to such a degree,that he made me curious enough and i took off to the big wobbly blue thing and left the village. It still gives me a warm feeling,out in the middle of the ocean,knowing that the reason i'm there is due to the influence and the love of sea Stan instilled in me,and i know he's keeping an eye on me.Love to you,Auntie Bronwen.
